It was a beautiful night for Arsenal fans, as Mikel Arteta’s men secured three points, a return to the top of the table, and clean sheets against visiting Luton Town.

Captain Martin Odegaard stated the Gunners intent in the first half with a clean finish in the 24 minutes to send fans in the Emirates to wild jubilation.

Hope for a comeback for Luton Town faded into thin air as Hashioka’s 44th-minute own goal compounded the woes of the travelling fans.

Mikel Arteta’s men have been formidable in 2024, unbeaten in 10 games in the Premier League, winning nine, and the only dent recorded was the stalemate at the Etihad on Sunday.

They have scored 35 goals, conceded four, and kept six clean sheets, solidifying their position as the best defensive team in the league.

Having battled to a commendable goalless draw at Manchester City four days prior, suffering without the ball for the majority, Wednesday’s meeting with Luton was not a night for overexertion by title-chasing Arsenal, who remain unbeaten in 2024.

Luton remain 18th, three points shy of safety, with seven games left to pull off an increasingly unlikely escape.

Arsenal return to action at Brighton on Saturday, ahead of next week’s European first leg with Bayern, while Luton’s quest for survival continues at home to Bournemouth.
